Black Students Abroad UK was founded in 2021 by Abbas Adejonwo, a student at the University of Warwick, with the help of James Hodkinson, his personal tutor and Warwick SMLC.

BSA UK aims to make the concept of a year abroad (YA) easier for Black students through multiple channels:

• Connecting them with other students in their city/region/country, hence forming a support group

• Connecting them with students who have gone before them, allowing guidance and an opportunity to have questions answered

• Providing younger students with insight into the Black YA experience, thus demystifying the process
